Healthy Pizza Sauce Printer Friendly version
 
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 cups tomato sauce
1/4 teaspoon red pepper, crushed/flaked
4 teaspoons fresh oregano, or 1 teaspoon dried
4 teaspoons basil, fresh/dried
4 teaspoons thyme, fresh/dried
2 large pizza crust
part skim milk mozzarella cheese
smidge of hot pepper flakes

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes, until the sauce thickens. In the meantime, brush pizza crust with olive oil and bake in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Remove crust, spread sauce and top with cheese.
