2/3 cup dried apples 1/2 cup light margarine 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1 1/3 cups flour 2 eggs 1 cup brown sugar, packed 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/3 cup chopped nuts 1/2 cup shredded coconut |

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse apples, cover them with water and boil 10 minutes. Drain, cool and chop. Combine margarine, granulated sugar and 1 cup flour and blend together until crumbly. Pack into bottom of greased 8"X8" square pan. Bake about 15 to 18 minutes until light brown. Beat eggs and vanilla and gradually beat in brown sugar. Sift remaining 1/3 cup four with baking powder and salt. Blend in egg mixture. Stir in nuts, coconut, and apples. Spread over baked layer. Bake for an additional 30 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars. | ||
